VALPARAISO — Police are investigating a possible armed robbery at Walmart, 2400 E. Morthland Ave. at 7:44 a.m. Sunday.

Sgt. Mike Grennes said a man approached the customer service counter and passed a note to the clerk. The note requested money and stated the man had a gun. The clerk complied and the man fled the store with an undetermined amount of money.

The man was described as a black male, approximately 6 foot tall weighing 190 pounds. He was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, black baseball cap and glasses. The man was last seen walking through the parking lot towards Steak and Shake.

Anybody with information regarding the robbery is asked to call the Valparaiso Police Department at 219-462-2135 or text information to Tip411 (847-411). Place the key word "Valpo" in the message field prior to sending the information.
