VALPARAISO — Police are investigating a rash of thefts from vehicles, burglaries and thefts of vehicles which occurred early Saturday morning.

All the incidents occurred in a neighborhood on the east side of the city. Police responded to the areas of the 3000 block of Blue Grouse Street, 2900 block of Sanderling Avenue and 3300 block of Kestrel Street for the reported incidents, according to Sgt. Mike Grennes.

Valparaiso police have also increased patrols in these areas.

Police are investigating six different locations regarding these incidents. Police are investigating a home burglary, a burglary to a garage, two vehicles that were stolen from residents and three thefts from vehicles.

One of the vehicle thefts was from the garage burglary. One vehicle was later recovered in Lake County.

Some of the items taken included electronic devices, power tools, purses, clothing and entertainment devices.

Police continue to investigate and are requesting for information related to these incidents. If anyone has any information about suspicious activities in the area, they are asked to contact the Valparaiso Police Department at 219-462-2135 or text a tip to Tip411 (847-411) and enter "Valpo" in the message field prior to sending a tip.
