VALPARAISO — On the same day an eviction notice was filed against him, a 19-year-old Valparaiso man directed police to the lifeless body of a woman inside the house in question and told them he had killed someone, according to court records.
The eviction was filed by a woman sharing the same home address as 19-year-old Conner Kobold in the 1350 block of Diamond Boulevard on Valparaiso's northwest side.
The reason given on the notice was: "Not following agreed upon house rules."

A Dec. 26 letter written by the same woman to Kobold says she is terminating their shared living arrangements because he had failed to attend regular therapy "to improve your health," maintain a full-time job or keep the residence clean.
"This decision is not made lightly and is a result of ongoing issues that have created an untenable living situation," the woman wrote.

The letter gave Kobold the option to comply with requirements to potentially remain in the house.
Kobold, who was taken Monday to the Porter County Jail, was charged Tuesday with attempted murder and aggravated battery.
"A further search of the area was conducted, and the bottom jaw of the skull was also located," police said.
Police say in a charging document that they were called shortly before 4 p.m. to the home on Diamond Boulevard by Kobold, who waved them down when they arrived and directed them to the body of an unresponsive woman inside.
"There is a dead person inside of the house on the corner," Kobold reportedly told police.
"A dead person?" an officer asked.
"Yeah, I killed somebody in that house," Kobold reportedly responded.
Kobold was granted a request to be placed in handcuffs and in the rear of a police vehicle, the charging document says.
"Well, we're all human beings," he reportedly told police. "No matter what, I have to owe up to my own mistakes no matter how disgusting and heinous they are."
Police said they found a woman in the living room area of the house with no pulse and not breathing. She was taken to the hospital and binding marks were found on her neck and medical officials believe she had suffered substantial brain damage.
Police did not identify the woman in the charging document.
The area of the house where the body was found showed signs of a struggle with furniture disturbed, according to police
