VALPARAISO — A local resident believes vandals targeted his property recently because of an Israeli flag he has posted out front.
The resident of the 2600 block of Woodbine Drive told police he walked out of his house Wednesday morning to discover someone had spray painted his driveway with the phrase, "We love to murder children," according to Porter County police.
"It's been happening since the beginning of the year and I'm scared," the child wrote.
He believes the message was painted in response to the Israeli flag he had hanging outside his house, police said.
The resident said he is not Jewish, "but believed because he supports Israel that he was targeted with this message."
Police said none of the neighboring homes had surveillance cameras.
At the time of his overdose, he was babysitting four children ranging in age from 10 to 5, police said.
Photos were taken of the message, but police said they have no suspect, leads or witnesses.
