HAMMOND — A 16-year-old girl was reported missing this week after she was last seen on Jan. 5 at her father’s Hammond home.
Shauna Murphy is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds with dark brown hair and brown eyes, Hammond police Lt. Steve Kellogg said. Kellogg said while authorities are searching for the teen, police investigations show there are no signs of foul play at this time.
Family members said they are worried of the teen’s whereabouts. Jennifer Tidwell, Murphy’s aunt, said the teen hasn’t been on social media and hasn’t been in contact with family or friends this week. Tidwell said it is also believed Murphy doesn’t have a cellphone with her.
Murphy was last seen by her father, Tidwell said. It was reported to police that the teen may have been riding in a silver Chevrolet four-door vehicle with an Illinois license plate AZ95053. Family said she may be somewhere near Chicago Heights or Calumet Township.
