Turkey meat won't be the only thing available this Thanksgiving that's 5 pounds or more.

The Times annual bulldog edition, weighing upwards of 5 pounds, is now available in stores all around the Region.

Aside from regular coverage, today and tomorrow's newspaper contains a little extra stuffing. Within it are advertisements and coupons for many holiday shopping needs, including food, furniture, tools, clothing and more.

"Every store has some kind of Black Friday offer and they all want to be a part of this paper," said Bob Heisse, executive editor of The Times. "Black Friday is the kickoff of holiday shopping. In recent years, Thanksgiving shopping has been available. In this case they can get it early when they’re out and about. They can take it home and plot their shopping."

This is the third year the edition has hit stores and doorsteps. Today it is only available at locations with single copies, but it will also arrive at subscribers' homes tomorrow morning. The edition costs $4 at store locations.

"We have some good stories in it, which readers can see first in the bulldog, then online, and then in the Thanksgiving paper," said Heisse.
