LANSING | A would-be burglar used a power saw to cut into a concrete wall Saturday in an attempt to break into a Lansing clothing store, officials said.
Lansing police were dispatched about 6 a.m. Monday to the Tops and Bottoms store at 16711 Torrence Ave. after the store's owner reported an active alarm.
The store's owner told officers he arrived at his business after being alerted by his alarm company and heard someone using a power saw in an adjacent, vacant store, police said.
Someone entered the adjacent store through a front door and used a power saw to attempt to gain entry to Tops and Bottoms, police said.
Video surveillance shows the offenders exited the back door of the vacant store and drove off in a dark-colored minivan with an Illinois temporary registration just before officers arrived.
