WHEATFIELD | Kankakee Valley School Corp. registration will experience two major changes for the 2012-13 school year.
KVSC, for the first time, will be accepting students who live outside the district without tuition charge. Students need to meet certain requirements and provide their own transportation. For more information, parents may call the superintendent’s office at (219) 987-4711.
Secondly, all registration for returning KVSC students will be done online. Parents will receive a letter with login instructions. Textbook rental, as well as other miscellaneous fees can be paid online.
Parents may still come to a school building to register, but will do so online in one of the school’s computer labs. Secretaries and technicians will be on hand for anyone requesting assistance. Parents that do not receive the mailing with the login information by Aug. 6, should contact their child’s school office.
Students new to the school district must still enroll in person at the building they will attend. New residents should bring student birth certificates, immunization records, custody papers (if applicable) and two forms of proof of residency.
New student registration is available from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, and returning students who need assistance with online registration can come to their school from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday or from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
