Businessman John Rust is challenging the validity of a state law setting specific qualifications for being identified as a member of a political party on the ballot.
Rust's disqualification practically was assured Feb. 15 when the Indiana Supreme Court lifted a judicial stay halting enforcement of Indiana's two-primary requirement.
John Rust obtained a residence in LaPorte County and a bank account, and was preparing to move to LaPorte County, when the two-primary requirement was enjoined Dec. 7.
