MUNSTER — As a man pulled up to his Munster home, he was met with a stranger waiting for him to exit his car.

The stranger pointed a small dark-colored weapon at the man and said, “I will kill you if you don't open the door,” Munster Lt. Ed Strbjak said.

Police responded at 5:35 p.m. Friday to an armed robbery at a Munster residence in the 9500 block of Northcote Avenue.

The suspect stole a carton of cigarettes, cash and a cellphone from the man, police said.

The suspect, who is at large, was described as a man in his early 20s, African American, slim build, 5'11” tall, clean shaven and was wearing a dark hoodie and other dark clothing, Strbjak said.

Munster police ask anyone with information to call the station at 219-836-6632.
