GARY | An assistant principal was found dead in her office Thursday night at Glen Park Academy for Learning, officials said.
Leslie McClung, 53, of the 200 block of Marcliffe Drive in Valparaiso, was pronounced dead at 8:12 p.m. at the school at 5002 Madison St., Lake County Coroner Merrilee Frey said.
The cause and manner of death are pending, but Scott Sefton, Frey's chief deputy, said no foul play is suspected.
Lt. Thomas Pawlak, of the Gary Police Department, said officers were called to the school around 7 p.m. after the principal found McClung dead in her office.

Pawlak said it appeared McClung was eating dinner alone at her desk and choked.
An official cause and manner of death are pending from Frey's office.
Charmella Greer, spokeswoman for the Gary Community School Corp., said McClung joined the district in 2009 as assistant principal.
"She touched the lives of countless students attending Bailly Preparatory Academy and finally Glen Park Academy for Excellence in Learning," Greer said Friday afternoon. "The district's crisis team was in the building this morning at 6 a.m. to serve any staff before students arrived."
