SCHERERVILLE — A collision caused a Mustang to wreck into a ditch at a car dealership construction site, tying up traffic on U.S. 30 in Schererville.

The driver of the Mustang, a 42-year-old man, was sent to the hospital with minor pains and lacerations, Schererville Cmdr. Jeff Cook said.

Police responded to the crash on U.S. 30 just west of Burr Street in Schererville at 3:49 p.m., Cook said. A van traveling in the eastbound lanes struck the rear end of a Mustang, causing the Mustang to veer off the road and wreck into a ditch.
