CROWN POINT — OSHA officials have been contacted to investigate after a Crown Point man died in a work-related injury Monday morning, authorities said Tuesday.

Kelly S. Davaney Jr., 23, was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma at 10:58 a.m. at the scene in the 11100 block of Broadway, according to a Lake County coroner's office release.

Crown Point police and fire responded to Nick's Building Materials, 11100 Broadway, at 9:52 a.m., for a report of a serious injury to an employee, according to police.

It appears building materials toppled onto Davaney, causing his injuries, police said.

At this time the incident remains under investigation, police said. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been contacted.
