GARY | Community Bridge Club in Calumet Township presented a check for $725 to the Calumet Township Emergency Shelter, an American Red Cross facility for mass emergency situations that provides services for those who are stranded in the area and for evictions, burnouts, floods, etc., with a primary emphasis on homeless women and children.
About once a month, duplicate bridge players pay an extra dollar as part of their entry fee, which is earmarked for a local charity. Players also contribute to American Contract Bridge League charities.
