GARY | A 57-year-old man was killed in Gary's Glen Park neighborhood early Sunday, police said.
The man, who was not identified, died from multiple gunshot wounds about 2:15 a.m. in the 5100 block of Georgia Street, police said.
The man remained unidentified by police Sunday because they were still trying to notify the next of kin.
Officers responded to the scene after receiving calls of gunshots heard in the neighborhood. Police found the man on the street bleeding.
The Lake County coroner's office did not release any information Sunday about the homicide.
Sunday's fatal shooting is the city's third homicide this weekend. On Saturday, Antoine Taylor, 19, of Gary, died from a gunshot wound. On Friday, Bryan Cooke, 46, of Gary, died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Gary police said they were investigating the homicides and it was unclear Sunday if the shootings were connected.
