GARY — A 21-year-old man was killed and three others were wounded in four shootings last weekend, police said.
Cameron Briscoe, of Gary, was gunned down about 12:45 p.m. Sunday inside an apartment on North County Line Road in the Gary’s Miller section, according to police and the Lake County coroner’s office.
Police said the homicide occurred in the 900 block of North County Line Road. The coroner's office said the homicide occurred in the 800 block of North County Line.*
Briscoe, one of three men charged in the robbery and shooting of a retired Gary police captain in March 2017, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

A 41-year-old Gary man was shot about 9:25 p.m. Friday while sitting in a car in the area of 21st Avenue and Jackson Street, police said.
The man was treated at a local hospital and later transferred to an Illinois hospital for further treatment, police said.
About 9:40 p.m. Friday, a group of men from Chicago carried their 19-year-old friend, also from Chicago, into the emergency room at Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus. The man had been shot in the foot, police said.
The circumstances of the man’s shooting remained under investigation.
About 2:35 a.m. Saturday, police and Gary firefighters were flagged down in the area of Oak Avenue and North Shelby Street in Miller because a 20-year-old Chicago man had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital.
The man told police he had been at a residence in the 800 block of North County Line Road when an argument occurred between someone with him and another person. His group left, but returned to retrieve a cellphone. The man told police he was shot while inside the residence.
Detective Daniel Callahan is investigating the Friday shootings. Detective Michael Barnes is investigating Saturday’s shooting.
