A Lake County coroner’s van

The Lake County Coroner ruled a man's Monday death as a homicide, according to a news release.

The man's death occurred in the 3100 block of W 22nd Ave. The coroner was dispatched to the scene at 5:43 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m.

The man was identified only as a John Doe, the release states. 

Other agencies involved include Gary police and EMS, Lake County Sheriff CSI and Lake County/Gary Metro Homicide.
