MERRILLVILLE | A truck fire on southbound Interstate 65 near the U.S. 30 exit had traffic crawling by on the shoulder during the Tuesday morning rush, police said.
Indiana State Police said the truck fire occurred just before 8 a.m. The accident scene was clear as of 9 a.m.
The truck was on the right shoulder, but the right and center lanes were blocked for emergency equipment, police said.
A minor personal injury crash occurred just south of the crash scene on Interstate 65, causing left lane blockage there as well. Police said that crash scene was cleared around 8:30 a.m.
