MERRILLVILLE | Merrillville Intermediate School held is annual PTO Student-Faculty Basketball Family Night on May 16. Since the first game in 2008, the faculty always won. It was a tough game tonight, but the students won 31-30.

The faculty MVP of the game was Ms. Flaris who scored 12 points, followed by Mr. Renner who scored 8! Contributing to the score was Mr. Parks who put 4 points on the board. Mrs. Patrick, Ms. Hulse, and Mrs. Wilson contributed 2 points each. Mr. Kosior was injured early in the 1st quarter.

PEARLS cheered the students on for the win.

SNAP performed for the crowd during half time.

Mr. Suges, coach of the students, is going out with a win under his belt. He had been the coach of the students since the first game. He is retiring this year.

PTO sold items in the concession stand for a dollar.

One boy and one girl student per homeroom are picked to play in the game. Students are rotated in and out of the game so all 24 are able to play. Sometimes there are more students on the court than the staff.
