A 33-year-old Schererville man was taken to a local hospital Monday after he rear-ended a semitractor that had stopped for a red light, police said.
Schererville police suspected alcohol was a factor and obtained a warrant for a blood draw from the driver, Cmdr. Jeff Cook said.
The man was driving a Dodge Charger south on U.S. 41 approaching U.S. 30 when he stuck the semitractor, police said.
The man was taken to Franciscan Health Dyer for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The semi driver was not injured.
Any charges against the Schererville man will be determined after toxicology results from the blood draw are returned, Cook said.
