Members of the Highland Police Department participated in “No Shave November” for the month of November in a fundraising event to raise funds for the Cancer Resource Centre in Munster. Officers who either raised or donated at least $50 for this cause were allowed to not shave and grow a neatly trimmed beard for the month. Other officers who did not wish to grow a beard but wanted to participate in this cause were given a wrist band to wear during this time in support of this cause. After the success for the month of November, officers were allowed to extend this fundraiser through the month of December if they were able to donate or raise additional funds.

A total of 22 officers donated and raised $2,106 during this fundraiser, of which 14 officers did grow a beard. The Highland Police Department would also like to thank Sip Coffee House, Krooswyk Trucking and Mahoney’s Auto Repair and Towing for their monetary donations to this worthy cause.
