Students campaign again for heart health

St. Michael School students Bennett Walker, Nick Schutz, Meredith Dainton, Luke Camerano, Angel Alzeidan, Caroline Jakalski and Michael Doolin participate in last year's Jump for Heart fundraiser. This year's event takes place Monday through Feb. 21 at the Schererville parochial school.

SCHERERVILLE | Jump for Heart is returning to St. Michael School next week. This is St. Michael's seventh year participating in the nationwide campaign to raise money for the American Heart Association. The St. Michael School Community has raised $33,500 in donations since 2007. Students will be jumping rope during gym class the week of Feb. 17-21, and collecting pledges to the AHA for their efforts. "Please consider making a tax deductible donation," said physical education teacher Jody Ritchie. Send donations to: American Heart Association, c/o St. Michael School, 16 W Wilhelm St., Schererville, IN 46375, Attn: Jody Ritchie, or donate online at www.heart.org/jump by selecting "St. Michael School-Schererville". Call (219) 322-4531 for more information.
