ST. JOHN — The St. John Police Department is hiring a police officer through the department's emergency hire process to fill a current vacancy.

The department is accepting applications from Indiana certified graduates from an Indiana-accredited police academy. There is an immediate opening for a probationary police officer.

Applicants who qualify can pick up an application from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

There is a $30 fee (cash only) for the application. Payment for the application packet must be made at the St. John Clerk-Treasurer's office, 10955 W. 93rd Ave. Once payment has been made, the application packet can be picked up at the Police Department, 11033 W. 93rd Ave.

Completed applications must be returned no later than 4 p.m. March 9.
