Indiana Beyond Coal Campaign plans meeting Thursday night on Michigan City's West Side

MICHIGAN CITY — Residents of the city's West Side will gather Thursday night to discuss environmental justice and pollution from a nearby NIPSCO plant.

Volunteers from the Sierra Club's Northwest Indiana Beyond Coal Campaign will host a barbecue and community conversation 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.O.P.E. Community Center, 222 McLelland Ave.

Other organizations at the event will include LaPorte County NAACP, Michigan City Social Justice Group and HealthLinc.
