CHESTERTON — Times Media Co. Publisher Chris White stopped by Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s new Duneland Club, not only to see the progress of the club’s construction, but to provide $25,000 in support for the capital endeavor. He was greeted by anxious youth who are looking forward to spending time in their new club.
“The club is amazing,” White said. “The Times is pleased to be part of this capital project supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s academic, character building and athletic programs. The new club will provide relevant services addressing the needs and interests of today’s youth in an extremely modern, state-of-the-art building.”
Entering the final phase of the new Duneland Club’s Capital Campaign with anticipation of opening for full programming in the spring, Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County is inviting the general public to be part of this historic project. “Our Duneland Boys & Girls Club is where the next generation of leaders are being developed. This club is paving the path to very successful futures for Chesterton youth. Like The Times, individuals have the opportunity to order a brick that will be fixed in the entry-way of the club,” said Ryan Smiley, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. “We are thankful for the investment The Times is making in our club and our community.”
