PORTAGE | A Hobart man was arrested Monday afternoon after police received complaints alleging he made inappropriate sexual comments in front of children at Woodland Park.
Keenan Durr, 51, was charged with public intoxication.
Portage police were called about 1:45 p.m. to the park after a woman told police Durr was speaking on the phone in the playground area of the park, where children were playing. The woman said Durr was making sexual comments on the phone, and when he got off the phone, made sexual comments to her.
The woman said she warned another mother at the park about the comments and called police.
Officers found Durr at a nearby apartment complex. He initially told officers he had not been at the park, then changed his story. Police said he denied making the sexual comments.
A portable breath test showed he had a blood alcohol concentration nearly twice the legal limit. He was taken to Porter County Jail.
