A school bus crash near Portage sent three children who were riding the bus to the hospital Monday afternoon.

The collision between the bus and a passenger vehicle happened at McCool Road and Valley Drive and was the fault of the passenger vehicle's driver, according to Cpl. Benjamin McFalls, a spokesman with the Porter County Sheriff's Department.

The bus was reportedly from Jones Elementary School in Portage.

Three passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, McFalls said.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was facing multiple citations, McFalls said.
