Ambassadors to promote 4-H throughout the year

The Lake County 4-H Department introduced members of the 2014 4-H Ambassador Board at the annual 4-H Leadership Recognition Banquet held at Great Oaks Banquets in Cedar Lake.

Twenty-four young people will serve as representatives of the 4-H program throughout the year and will be eligible for awards and scholarships. The Ambassadors were chosen based on their records of achievement in 4-H projects and activities, leadership experience and community service.

Four-H Ambassadors assist with program activities, including events at the Lake County Fair. They also work to increase public awareness of 4-H and encourage more young people to participate.

The 2014 Ambassadors are:

Charlie Bayne, son of Chuck and Laura Bayne, of Cedar Lake, a senior at Hanover Central High School and a member of the Saddle & Spurs 4-H Club.

Heather Bayne, daughter of Chuck and Laura Bayne, of Cedar Lake, a freshman at Hanover Central High School and a member of the Saddle & Spurs 4-H Club.

Catherine Berger, daughter of Brian and Ann Berger, of Crown Point, a junior at Crown Point High School and a member of the Crown Clovers 4-H Club.

Megan Berger, daughter of Brian and Ann Berger, of Crown Point, a sophomore at Crown Point High School and a member of the Crown Clovers 4-H Club.

Allison Bewick, daughter of Dr. Keary and Becky Bewick, of Valparaiso, a freshman at Valparaiso High School and a member of The Lone Rangers 4-H Club.

Sarah Dingman, daughter of Michael and Diana Dingman, of Schererville, a junior at Lake Central High School and a member of the Rockin’ Clovers 4-H Club.

Anna Marie Gianni, daughter of Richard and Victoria Gianni, of Crown Point, a senior at Crown Point High School and a member of the Saddle & Spurs 4-H Club.

Josephine Gianni, daughter of Richard and Victoria Gianni, of Crown Point, a freshman at Crown Point High School and a member of the Saddle & Spurs 4-H Club.

Julie Javorka, daughter of Pete and Laura Javorka, of Lansing, Ill., a sophomore at Marian Catholic High School and a member of the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club.

Daniel Jones, son of Krzysztof Weber and Julie Jones, of Crown Point, a freshman at Crown Point High School and a member of RPFF 4-H Club.

Jenna Jurczyk, daughter of Robert and Helen Jurczyk, of Merrillville, a junior at Merrillville High School and a 4-H member-at-large.

Annie Kennelly, daughter of Thomas and Margaret Kennelly, of Lowell, a senior at Lowell High School and a member of the Hanover Haymakers 4-H Club.

Kathy Kennelly, daughter of Thomas and Margaret Kennelly, of Lowell, a freshman at Lowell High School and a member of the Hanover Haymakers 4-H Club.

Matt Kresich, son of Joe and Susan Kresich, of Highland, a homeschooled senior and member of the Griffith Grinners 4-H Club.

Caroline Kvachkoff, daughter of Doug and Patty Kvachkoff, of Crown Point, a junior at Crown Point High School and a member of the Crown Clovers 4-H Club.

Thomas Kvachkoff, son of Doug and Patty Kvachkoff, of Crown Point, a sophomore at Crown Point High School and a member of the Crown Clovers 4-H Club.

Emma Millard, daughter of Chris Millard, of St. John, and Alyssa Millard, of Schererville, a freshman at Lake Central High School and a member of the Saddle and Spurs 4-H Club.

Hannah Millard, daughter of Chris Millard, of St. John, and Alyssa Millard, of Schererville, a junior at Lowell High School and a 4-H member-at-large.

Emily Reed, daughter of Thomas and Kristine Reed, of Crown Point, a sophomore at Crown Point High School and a member of the Crown Clovers 4-H Club.

Jamie Reed, daughter of Jim and Jan Reed, of Lowell, a freshman at Lowell High School and a member of  Riley 4-H Club.

Jenny Reed, daughter of Jim and Jan Reed, of Lowell, a senior at Lowell High School and a member of  Riley 4-H Club.

Joe Reed, son of Jim and Jan Reed, of Lowell, a senior at Lowell High School and member of Riley 4-H Club.

Susan Reed, daughter of Thomas and Kristine Reed, of Crown Point, a senior at Crown Point High School and member of the Crown Clovers 4-H Club.

Brandilyn Stockton-Fresso, daughter of Pamela Stockton and Frank Fresso, Jr., of Dyer, a junior at Lake Central High School and a member of the RPFF 4-H Club.

Also at the banquet, Lake County 4-H adult volunteers and Junior Leaders received pins in recognition of their years of service, sponsored by Lake County Farm Bureau. The Lake County 4-H Club Committee introduced four incoming directors: adult volunteers Connie Brittingham and Sheree Japchinksi, and 4-H Junior Leaders Allison Bewick and Kathy Kennelly.
