Gardeners spruce up Vising Nurse Association hospice center

VALPARAISO — A team of Porter County master gardeners gathered to spruce up the gardens at Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Center. The center garden is a continuing project led by advanced master gardener Martha Seroczynski, and funded yearly by a $250 community grant from the Porter County Master Gardeners Association.

Since 2005, the association has given more than $45,000 in gifts and grants to organizations in and around Porter County.

In addition to the VNA, 2016 grant recipients are:

In keeping with their goals of community outreach and “helping others grow” the association invites individuals, groups or charitable organizations in and around Porter County to apply for $1,000 scholarships, $500 community service donations, or $250 community grants beginning in January.
