A fire in Munster burnt a garage and its contents to the ground, leaving two vehicles inside charred to a crisp.

The Munster Fire Department responded at 5:25 p.m. Friday to a fire in the 200 block of Briar Lane, according to Munster Fire Department Deputy Chief David Strbjak.

Strbjak said it took 20 minutes to extinguish the fire and 30 firefighters from Munster, Lansing, Schererville and Highland were on the scene.

The road was blocked off and several firetrucks lined Briar Lane.

No injuries were reported and there was some external damage to the house in front of the garage, as well as a neighbors' fence line and garage.

Strbjak said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
