John Szot's op-ed "The Laffer (Laugher) Curve" on Jan. 8 is misleading. After the Reagan tax cuts were enacted, tax revenue went from $599 billion dollars to $909 billion in 1988, an increase of 150%. Today we have record amounts of tax revenue flowing to the government. The problem is not the revenue, but the politicians' (on both sides of the aisle) spending habits.
