Another mass shooting! When is Congress going to do its job in protecting its citizens? How many more mass shootings must we endure before Congress does the job they were hired to do?

The NRA and gun enthusiasts tout the 2nd Amendment as their right. What about the millions of other people who do not own guns? What about their right to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness?

The 2nd Amendment was created for having “a well regulated militia.” Times have changed! Since the Constitution is a living, breathing document, perhaps a 28th amendment is needed in specifying the type of “arms” available to the public. Military and/or military-style weapons do not belong in the public domain.

Since the 2nd Amendment was created and ratified in the 18th century, maybe those types of “arms” are the only ones that should be allowed!
