TINLEY PARK | Thornton Fractional just couldn't get its offense moving Tuesday night and paid for it by being eliminated from the IHSA playoffs.

Thornton Fractional was outshot 28-7 by Andrew as the Thunderbolts were led by Alanna Lalich's hat trick in a 4-1 win in one semifinal of the Class 3A Andrew Regional.

T.F. coach Alejandro Lagunas said he was happy with how his team played defensively.

"I thought we played well except for not getting any offense going," Lagunas said. "I though Maira (Gutierrez) played well in goal."

He also said Andrew outplayed his team.

"They were the better team," Lagunas said. "They stopped us, played good defense and attacked offensively."

She had nine saves with most of the game played in Thornton Fractional's half of the pitch.

"It was tough, but you just have to have confidence in your teammates," Gutierrez said. "We played hard but Andrew is a good team."

Lalich said her team being able to control the field position was the key.

"We were able to control the momentum and we stopped them at midfield," Lalley said. "I think that helped generate offense."

Lalley's first goal came 2:10 in. Thornton Fractional Isabel Carillo scored at the 24:43 mark of the first half.

"I was out about 30 yards and I saw I had the shot and took it," Carillo said.

She said the team struggled with its offense.

"We didn't talk a lot and we were not passing the ball (well)."

Lalich's goal with 58.4 seconds left in the first half gave the Thunderbolts (11-6-1) a lead they would not relinquish.

Thornton Fractional (12-8) would only cross midfield three times in the second half.

Lalich scored again with 11:16 left in the match and Abby Hookoer made it 4-1 with 5:43 left.
