Recent Chesterton graduate Shelby Grimm was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First-Team All-American. She is one of 16 high school softball players in the United States to earn the honor.
The Notre Dame-bound catcher hit .468 with 44 hits, including eight doubles, and was 26 of 28 in stolen-base attempts
She had a .991 fielding percentage behind the plate.
The only other Indiana player selected to one of the three All-American teams was New Palestine’s Ashley Prange. She also was named to the first team.
