Marquette Catholic's Emma Nolan and Lake Station's Donta Long were named the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Subway Players of the Week for District 1.
Nolan averaged 29.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals over three games as the Blazers won their third straight Class A Morgan Township Sectional. She was 35-of-55 from the field, 6-of-12 on 3-pointers and 13-of-15 on free throws, individually outscoring each Marquette opponent.
The Saint Louis University recruit also received player of the week honors for Nov. 13-18.
Long scored a career-best 36 points with nine rebounds and four steals in a 71-69 victory over Kouts. He posted 28 points with nine rebounds and five assists in an 80-69 loss to Washington Township. Long was 11-of-11 on free throws in the two games. Teammate Dominique Smith was player of the week Dec. 4-9.
Morgan Twp. 39, LaCrosse 33: Trevor Braden scored 14 points as the Cherokees picked up the Porter County Conference win.
The game was moved a half-hour earlier in the evening to account for Monday's weather.
Wes Brust scored 11 points and Dejan Dakic added 10 for LaCrosse.

Matt Lottich to speak at Calumet Sportsmanship Dinner: Valparaiso University men's basketball coach Matt Lottich will be the keynote speaker at the 64th annual Sportsmanship Dinner.
The dinner, slated for 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, will be held at the Halls of St. George in Schererville and will bring together the boys basketball players at the schools participating in five of the Region's sectionals.
