Tickets for Friday's New Prairie at Lowell Class 4A regional football game will be on sale beginning Wednesday at the school. Fans can purchase tickets from 4-6 p.m. today, from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

In addition, the school musical will be performed Friday at Lowell, so fans are encouraged to car pool.

Girls basketball

LaPorte 70, New Prairie 28: Riley Ott scored a team-high 21 points to lead the Slicers over the Cougars.

Madison Pierro added 10 points, while Jaqui Leal had nine points.

Kouts 42, Wheeler 31: Morgan Kobza's 13 points and 16 rebounds powered the Fillies (1-1) past the Bearcats. Sydney Eden's 12 points topped Wheeler.

Hebron to honor veterans: Hebron will host "Hoops Honoring Heroes" between its junior varsity and varsity games with North Judson at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday. Past and present military personnel will be recognized and will be admitted free with proof of ID.

Cross country

Hebron has coaching opening: Hebron is taking applications for varsity coed coach. Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and resume/application to Hebron Athletic Director John Steinhilber, 307 S. Main St., Hebron, Indiana 46341. Call 219-996-4471 for more information.

Boys basketball

LaPorte to hold "Meet the Team Night": The LaPorte High School boys basketball team will have a "Meet the Team Night" from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Slicer Gym. There will be an open practice for fans to watch and from 7 to 8 p.m. the Slicers will scrimmage. The team is accepting canned goods and sports drink donations for admission.
