Tiara Jackson posted a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds and added four steals Wednesday as Times No. 1 E.C. Central picked up a 69-38 girls basketball win against Hobart.

Tai-Yanna Jackson also notched a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals (3-0). Nia Hurt knocked down three 3s and scored 13. Zariah Frierson had seven points, seven boards and six assists.

Paige Nestich had 12 points and hit three 3s to lead the Brickies (0-2).

Boone Grove 64, Hebron 35: Maddie Pfister had 23 points to lead the Wolves (3-0, 2-0) over the Hawks (0-2, 0-1) in Porter County Conference play.

Kate Pfister added 14 for Boone.

Sam Molchan had 14 to lead Hebron.

Hebron to honor veterans: Hebron will host "Hoops Honoring Heroes" between its junior varsity and varsity games with North Judson at approximately 7 p.m. today. Past and present military personnel will be recognized and will be admitted free with proof of ID.

Cross country

Hebron has coaching opening: Hebron is taking applications for varsity coed coach. Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and resume/application to Hebron Athletic Director John Steinhilber, 307 S. Main St., Hebron, Indiana 46341. Call 219-996-4471 for more information.

Boys basketball

LaPorte to hold "Meet the Team Night": The LaPorte High School boys basketball team will have a "Meet the Team Night" from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Slicer Gym. There will be an open practice for fans to watch and from 7 to 8 p.m. the Slicers will scrimmage. The team is accepting canned goods and sports drink donations for admission.

South Central to have intersquad scrimmage: The South Central boys basketball team will be hosting a Satellite intersquad scrimmage at 6 p.m. Nov. 16. The event will consist of designated quarters featuring the varsity, junior varsity and 'C' teams. The event is free.


Regional tickets on sale at Lowell: Tickets for Friday's New Prairie at Lowell Class 4A regional football game will be on sale from 5-7:30 p.m. today and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

In addition, the school musical will be performed Friday at Lowell, so fans are encouraged to car pool.
