VU signs two recruits: Demetria Jhaveri (Westlake, Ohio) and Amanda Tabanera (Valencia, California) signed their National Letters of Intent with Valparaiso.
Jhaveri helped her high school team win conference championships all four years of her prep career and was a first-team all-conference performer in each of her four seasons. She placed fourth in the state doubles tournament in 2017.
Tabanera advanced to the CIF semifinals last year in doubles.
Roof signs with Valparaiso: Alexis Roof (Kearsley, Michigan) has signed a National Letter of Intent with Valparaiso.
Roof helped Kearsley to team state championships in each of her first three years. The lefty posted a 205 average last year and finished 15th at the state tournament, following a third-place finish at regionals and a runner-up finish at the conference tournament.
Horn helps Andrean defeat Munster: Peyton Horn had a team-high 13 points in Andrean's 60-47 win over Munster.
Isabelle Bednarowski led the Mustangs with 18 points.
Jackson leads Cardinals to win: Taiyanna Jackson had 39 points, seven rebounds and seven steals in E.C. Central's 73-25 win over Hammond.
Reed powers Gladiators to win: Darlisha Reed scored a game-high 30 points to lead Gavit to a 45-37 win over Whiting.
Hano helps Hawks defeat Bearcats: Allison Hano had a game-high 18 points in Hebron's 65-46 win over Wheeler.
Katlyn Cherry added 16 points, while Haley Rokosz had 15.
RailCats acquire RHP Sinibaldi: The RailCats acquired right-handed pitcher Justin Sinibaldi from the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League to complete an earlier transaction between the two clubs.
Sinibaldi went 3-4 with 10 saves and a 3.57 ERA in 30 games (nine starts) with Lake Erie last season.
Purdue advances by beating Davidson 79-58: Carsen Edwards had 29 points and No. 23 Purdue beat Davidson 79-58 on Friday night to reach the final of the Charleston Classic.
The Boilermakers (4-0) will take on No. 16 Virginia Tech for the eight-team tournament title Sunday night.

Kyle Busch will lead NASCAR's title contenders at the start of Sunday's championship finale, but he'll have his teammate trying to spoil the show. Busch was the highest qualifying driver of the four championship contenders at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Denny Hamlin won the pole for Joe Gibbs Racing, and his teammate Busch qualified second for an all-Toyota front row.
