Martha Bayor, 92, of Hobart, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2000. Martha was instrumental in helping to establish the Hobart Humane Society, a retired clerk with the Indiana Toll Road with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Vivian Society. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Attorney Hosea Adams Bayor and son, Charles R. Bayor. Survivors: one daughter, Frankie (Donald) Stewart of Hobart; one daughter-in-law, Jeanne Bayor of Wheaton, IL; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and one cousin.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2000 at 1 P.M. at the Burns Funeral Home (Hobart), corner of RT 51 and 7th Street, Rev. John R. Barley officiating. Cremation by Burns Funeral Home Crematory will precede memorial services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hobart Humane Society or to the Leukemia Society of America.

Irvin S. Bishop, 46, of Whiting, IN, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at home. Survivors include parents: Berchel and Errol, of Whiting; two brothers, Stecy (Doris) Bishop, of Whiting, IN, and Eric Bishop, of Whitng, IN; two sisters: Virginia (J.R.) Serna, of Whiting, IN, LaDonna (Shawn) Condes, of Michigan City, IN; grandmother, Gladys Bishop, of KY; four aunts: June Mosley, of Evansville, IN, Glenda Peters, of KY, Kay of Dayton, OH, Rosetta Dukes, of KY; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a niece, Angela Crippen.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m. from the Owens Funeral Home, Calumet Ave. and 119th St, Whiting. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Bishop was a member of the Church of God and was formerly employed as a Cook by Condes Catering and was a lifelong resident of Whiting.

Sylvia G. Dado (nee Majkowski)

Sylvia G. Dado (nee Majkowski), 85, of Whiting, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at the St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Brazil, IN. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank B. Dado who passed away June 28, 1984. She is survived by three children: Delores (Eugene) Rzepczynski of Rockville, IN, Frances (Robert) Kuva of Highland and Frank (Carol) Dado of Whiting; five grandchildren: Michael (Sharon) Rzepczynski, Robert (Jane) Kuva, Michelle (Douglas) Parcel, Frank and Jennifer Dado; five great-grandchildren: Amanda and Amy Rzepczynski, D.J. and Erica Parcel, Joseph Kuva; three sisters-in-law, Mary (late Steve) Dado of East Chicago, Mary (late John) Dado of Chicago and Rosemary (late Anthony) Dado of Greenbay, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.

(Shirley) Farmer of Gary; five step-daughters: Marion (Howard) Geib of Wolcott, IN, Juanita Dills of Merrillville, Vivian Wheeldon of Morocco, IN, Shirley (Junior) Mohler of Florida and Norma (Paul) Haesloop of Arizona; two step-sons, George (Lee) Fryar of Arizona and Vernon (Lorraine) Fryar, Jr. of Minnesota; one sister, Oakla Marlowe of Fordsville, KY and five grandchildren. Mrs. Fryar attended Ross Baptist Church and was a member of International Local Union 208 of Gary.

J. Matthew Geeze

J.Matthew Geeze, 19, ascended into Heaven on October 31, 2000 at the Mary Bartz VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, IN. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Station, IN. Matthew was a student and graduate of Northwest Indiana Special Education Co-Op in Crown Point. He was born to Richard and Brenda (Harth) Geeze on July 5, 1981. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Walter Geeze and baby sister; special friends: Mindi, Embry and Jason. He is survived by his devoted sister, Shannon Brewer (Jay Smelley) of Oklahoma City, OK; loving brother, Shawn Brewer (Melissa) McGregor, of Portage, IN; special niece, Madison Brewer; two loving nephews: Skyler Brewer and Sinjin Smelley; maternal grandparents: Herbert (Edna) Harth, of Valparaiso, IN; paternal grandmother, Margaret Geeze, of Brackettville, TX; four siblings: Richard Geeze,of Boise, ID, Thomas Geeze, of Chesterton, IN, Lisa Holley, of Merrillville, IN, and Cindi Geeze, of Chicago, IL; seven nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lena Hagen

Lena Hagen, 96, of Crown Point, IN passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at St. Anthony Nursing Home. Survived by two nephews, Larry (Judy) Petersen of New York and Jim ( Sara) Petersen of Franklin, IN; great-nieces; great-nephews and cousins. Close friends, Bill and Jean Keehn of Crown Point. Preceded in death by first husband, Clyde Klug and second husband, Arthur Hagen.

Mrs. Hagen was a member of Southlake Christian Church; an avid bowler and golfer. A former member of Youche Country Club and worked for many years at Kaisers Restaurant.

George Liptack, 82, of Lansing passed away November 1, 2000, in Hammond, IN. He is survived by three sons, Guy (Marlene), Gil, and Gar Liptack; and daughter, Gay Bartley; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Ann (late Charles) Kamykowski. Preceded in death by his wife Virginia; his mother Anastasia; and brother, Steve Liptack.

Mr. Liptack retired from Lever Brothers in 1976 and he was employed as a pipe fitter and welder.

Married to Carl Adrian Nichols on Nov. 2, 1946 in Murfreesboro, KY, he survives; also survived by daughter, Susan Larson, two granddaughters, Staci Reuer and Lori Foglesong and four great-grandchildren: Cody Reuer, Ellen Hough, Emma Foglesong and Anna Foglesong, all of LaPorte, IN; two sisters: Janice Clifford of Valparaiso, IN and Pat Reis of Chesterton, IN; several nieces and nephews.
