Michigan Tech responded by claiming the second set 25-20, then edged the Lions 25-21 in the third to take a 2-1 lead.
Facing a must-win fourth set, the Lions answered with a 25-18 victory, recording 13 kills and hitting .313 to force a decisive fifth set.
PNW delivered its strongest offensive performance in the final frame, recording 13 kills without an attack error to post a .619 hitting percentage and take the set 15-9.
